FEROZEWALA (Dunya News) – An alleged robber was killed in what police claimed firing of his own accomplices in an encounter with the law enforcers.
The robber indentified as Ali Shan was wanted by police in dozens of cases of robbery, murder and kidnap for ransom.
Giving details of the encounter, DPO Tahir Nawaz said the robber was being taken under police custody to the hiding place of his accomplices.
On seeing police, his accomplices started indiscriminate firing, which was effectively responded by the law enforcers.
During the gun battle which lasted two hours, the under-custody robber was killed in the firing of his accomplices. The assailants managed to escape.
According to police, nine robbers had targeted them with sophisticated weapons.
A heavy contingent of police rushed to the scene and launched a manhunt to for the arrest of the fleeing robbers.
